PVM Errors from large popsize

I am running a rather complex problem with 4 computational nodes and I
am trying to use a large popsize. However when I try anything large
(above around 4000) the program runs for awhile and then starts to
output the following errors repeatedly.

[tablix] node 4000e has a different number of modules than others
libpvm [t4000c]: pvm_upkstr(): No current buffer
libpvm [t4000c]: pvm_upkint(): No current buffer
libpvm [t4000c]: pvm_upkstr(): No current buffer
libpvm [t4000c]: pvm_upkint(): No current buffer
libpvm [t4000c]: pvm_upkstr(): No current buffer
libpvm [t4000c]: pvm_upkint(): No current buffer
libpvm [t4000c]: pvm_upkstr(): No current buffer
libpvm [t4000c]: pvm_upkint(): No current buffer
libpvm [t4000c]: pvm_recv(): Can't contact local daemon
libpvm [t4000c]: pvm_bufinfo(): Bad parameter
libpvm [t4000c]: pvm_upkint(): No current buffer

Could it possibly be a bug in PVM?
